Do I need a permit to get married in Big Sur?
The short answer is Yes, permits are required for the outdoor venues like the State Beaches and Parks (Garrapata above being one of them). If you are getting married at one of the hotel venues, then you do not need a permit for those. Just make sure you check with the local agencies to find out whether or not a permit is needed.
However, good news. I have "blanket permits" for all of my favorite locations in Big Sur. That means if you work with me as you photographer, you get to bypass the whole permitting process. I want to make everything as easy and enjoyable as possible for you so I take care of all of the permitting for my couples. Booya!
