Some wedding days just feel easy in the best possible way. Joyful, intentional, and full of people who genuinely love being there. Haley and Joey’s Perry House Monterey wedding was exactly that! I knew it was going to be special from the very beginning.

The summer before their wedding day, we shot the most beautiful engagement photos in Big Sur together and immediately clicked. We had such a good connection that when they reached back out asking if I would shoot their wedding day at The Perry House in Monterey, I didn’t even think twice. I immediately said yes, and we began planning excitedly for the big day!

Things came together so well and so fast, and they even booked hybrid coverage with me, shooting video and photo. The best kind of day!

What made this Perry House Monterey wedding even more meaningful was the connection both Haley and Joey had to Monterey itself. They both come from military families and spent time in Monterey at separate times growing up while their families were stationed here. They bonded over how much they loved this area, so getting married in Monterey California felt incredibly personal and full circle for them.

The Perry House Monterey was the perfect venue for it all.

Perry House itself is such a beautiful wedding venue in Monterey. It’s one of the smaller venues, but that’s exactly why people love it so much.

It’s full of charm, intimacy, and naturally has a way of bringing people together instead of spreading them out. Every guest feels welcomed and immersed in the entire wedding day and the energy is always electric!

One of my favorite things about this venue is the incredible patio where they host the ceremony overlooking the Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean. They also flip that same patio space for the reception, which creates such a seamless flow throughout the wedding day.

And as a wedding photographer, Perry House is always such a dream to work at because the entire staff is amazing. They work under the larger umbrella company Events By Classic, and because of that, the entire wedding day is always top-notch. They use incredible planners, amazing vendor teams, and everything is executed with excellence from beginning to end.

Every time I shoot a Perry House Monterey wedding, I know everyone on the guest list and all of the vendors, including myself, are going to be well taken care of. When you have a team of people who truly have your back, you can actually relax and enjoy the day you spent so long planning.

A Wedding Day That Felt Effortless From Beginning to End

Honestly, the whole day was just smooth.

From beginning to end, everything was flawless and relaxed, which allowed Haley and Joey to really stay present with each other and soak everything in.

Some of my favorite moments happened early in the day during bridal portraits with Haley in the bridal suite. There was a really touching private moment between her and her mom while they were looking into the mirror together, and it was one of those quiet emotional moments that says everything without needing words.

After that, Haley and Joey shared their first look inside the house and it was so sweet. They both have such contagious smiles and joy, and from that point on the day just felt fun.

We wandered around the inside of Perry House taking portraits in little corners and window nooks throughout the venue, and honestly every spot in that venue is just so cute and makes for really great photos.

Then later we headed outside for portraits around the grass and ocean views, and the veil shots we captured out there were SO cool. Between the wind, the movement, and how easy-going Haley and Joey are together, everything photographed beautifully without feeling forced.

That’s honestly one of my favorite things about couples like these two. They trusted the process, stayed fully present with each other, and just had fun together. We spent the day running around taking cool pictures, laughing nonstop, and capturing moments that genuinely felt like them.

Haley and Joey’s Perry House Monterey wedding was the perfect reminder that wedding days don’t need to feel stressful or overly complicated to be unforgettable.

Sometimes all you need is a meaningful location, your favorite people, and beautiful ocean views on top of a wedding experience that actually feels like you. This day had all of that and more!
